Joe Ledley to Everton in a £3.5 million Deal
PLTransfers.com reveals Everton manager David Moyes is keen to further strengthen his squad in January Transfer Window, and reports suggest he is willing to pay up to £3.5million to land Cardiff City's left sided attacking midfielder Joe Ledley.
The Welsh international, who is happy at Cardiff City after already rejecting a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers this season, although the Bluebirds may have to sell to ease their financial troubles.
"I'm probably playing the best I've played this season," said Ledley. "I am happy where I am at Cardiff. If they accept a bid then I will be gone but it's up to Cardiff. Everybody wants to play in the Premier League.”
Joe was born in Cardiff, and grew up in the Fairwater district of Cardiff. He is not the first footballer in the family, however, his older cousin Luke Pittard played in goals for Wales under 21's, before injury cut short his career.
Ledley joined the Cardiff City youth side at the age of nine and made his way through the ranks at the club.
Ledley is currently one of the rising stars of Cardiff City, after performing well for the reserve team, and thus being called into the full team in the middle of the 2004-2005 season, making his debut against Brighton and Hove Albion, then playing well in the senior side since then. He scored his first goal for the senior team in a league match against West Ham United which the Bluebirds won 4-1. Primarily a midfielder, being able to play in the center or on the left, Ledley can also play at left-back as he showed at the end of the 2006/07 season when he filled in at the position with Cardiff's small squad struggling with suspensions and injuries late in the season. He has also played at left-back for Wales. At the end of the 2006/07 season he picked up the goal of the season award for his strike against Barnsley.
Ledley began the 2007/08 season in great form and earned several man of the match awards in the first four months and in October 2007 he signed a two-year extension to his current contract at Cardiff. In December 2007 Wolverhampton Wanderers offered a reported £2.5 million pounds, which could go up to as much as £3.5m with add-ons, to Cardiff for Ledley. Cardiff offered the deal to Ledley who turned the move down in order to stay with the Bluebirds.

Nicolas Anelka to Chelsea
The Frenchman opened the door to a long-awaited move to Chelsea yesterday by confirming the two clubs have begun talks over a £15million deal.
Anelka's imminent departure moved a step closer shortly before kick-off when comments emerged from an interview he had given to respected French sports daily L'Equipe indicating he is on the verge of a move to Stamford Bridge.
It hardly clarified the situation, however, with Anelka first of all confirming that talks are under way between Bolton chairman Phil Gartside and his Chelsea counterpart Bruce Buck, and then expressing an interest in moving to Manchester City.
Even staying at Bolton, claimed the indecisive Frenchman, was not that bad an option, unlikely as it now seems.
But Chelsea remain Anelka's favored destination, particularly in light of a new ruling this season that means he would be eligible to play in the Champions League, even though he has appeared for Bolton in the UEFA Cup.
"The chairmen are discussing it," said Anelka. "I really hope it happens and especially that I'm eligible to play in the Champions League. But until the contract is signed and I'm presented to the Press in my new shirt, nothing is done.
"I want to go to a bigger club and that's what Manchester City have become under a manager such as Eriksson, who I was ready to join in 1999 at Lazio. Staying at Bolton, where I'm very happy, wouldn't be a punishment either."
Will Anelka move to Chelsea? It's all in here

Liverpool line up £6m move to Wayne Bridge
Wayne Bridge’s spell at Chelsea could end with a £6 million move to Liverpool.
The left back, 27, whose appearances at Stamford Bridge have been limited since the arrival of Ashley Cole from Arsenal, has already turned down the chance to switch to three top-flight rivals, but he may view the chance of resurrecting his career at Anfield more positively. He is one of the leading targets for Rafael BenÍtez, the Liverpool manager, after a failed attempt to sign Gabriel Heinze, the former Manchester United defender.
Grant wants to keep Bridge at the club but may not be able to do so, with Liverpool ready to offer him an attractive alternative and prepared to pay £6 million despite the internal wrangling over their transfer budget.
Bridge was badly affected by Chelsea’s controversial signing of Cole 18 months ago and will not take kindly to the impending signing of another rival. He was already disillusioned at what he perceived as the preferential treatment afforded Cole, with the former Arsenal defender generally selected for Chelsea’s most important matches.
Bridge rejected overtures from Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Fulham before signing a new contract at Chelsea last season, but he would view an approach from Liverpool quite differently.
From Chelsea to Liverpool, will it happen? Tell us what you think
